The event, which was organised by the Inner West Chamber of Commerce, is the first of many annual celebrations of Italian culture, culinary traditions and music, in a suburb that is home to many Italian people and businesses.
Various pasta dishes will be on offer to the public, as well as pizza, gelato, coffee and sweets, with an emphasis on all the specialities which are exclusively available in the area.
Peppes Pasta shop will cook 500 kilograms of pasta, and all profits will be donated to Westmead Children’s Hospital.
Visitors will have the chance to win two return tickets to Italy, courtesy of Singapore Airlines and Forza Travel.
There will be a display of Ferrari cars, and a food market at Lamonica IGA Supermarket.
The event will begin at 10:00 am with a performance by Belinda’s School of Dance, followed by a fashion parade by Amok Kids and Amok.
At 10:45 am, the Haberfield School of Dance will perform.
The event will be officially opened by the mayor’s speech, which will be followed by a musical concert featuring Tony Di Marti, Gaetano, Manpower and Abbalanche.
A presentation by Made in Italy and Tony Di Marti will conclude the event, which is set to be a real explosion of Italian culture.
