Laura Liverani photographs lesser known communities in Japan
Japan-based Italian documentary photographer Laura Liverani is currently exhibiting at the Japan Foundation, in Sydney, with her show ‘Coexistences: Portraits of Today’s Japan’, a surveillance of six portraiture series which follow communities of elderly cheerleaders, senior models, women sumo wrestlers, tobi construction workers, spandex suit enthusiasts and Hokkaido’s indigenous Ainu population.
